MAUREN is a headline font I drew in summer 2009.
Mauren arose at a train station in north spain I had to spend 12 hours at. I copied the inscription and considered its look in capitals. So a beautiful “R” appeared in my sketchbook which longed for companion. So it was my job to get it in good company. It was good to have this “R”eference with a distinct nature to keep the balance between plenty and excessive character.
